The Great Brisbane Bike Ride will be held on Sunday May 15, and is the feature event of Bike Week, the largest cycling festival in Queensland (May 14 - 22, 2016).
This Bicycle Queensland event offers challenging routes for bike riders of all abilities. Participants can choose from riding 40km, 75km or 110km, with the two larger distances giving riders the chance to take on the famed Coot-tha Challenge – a timed climb up and around Mt Coot-tha.
The 2016 event beneficiary is Diabetes Queensland, who Bicycle Queensland are excited to be working with given our common goals of building a healthier community and getting more people active. 60 Queenslanders are diagnosed with all types of diabetes every day.
Funds raised from this event will help Diabetes Queensland to continue to provide much needed support, research and education about this condition. Your help can:
- provide information to schools that helps keep kids living with type 1 diabetes safe
- help to find some of the estimated 93,000 Queenslanders living with type 2 diabetes, who don't know it
- support research initiatives to improve diagnosis and management of all type of diabetes, and hopefully one day find a cure
Please note, creating a fundraising page does not automatically register you a place to participate in the event. If you have not yet registered, enter now!

Thank you for being part of our Diabetes Queensland community.
Your support makes a positive difference to the lives of children and adults living with diabetes to help them live long, healthy lives.
Our community fundraisers help us support over 200,000 Queenslanders living with all types of diabetes. We provide services and education programs, undertake research, and advocate to Government on behalf of people living with diabetes, and we work in the community raising public awareness about diabetes and issues associated with this condition.
